Hi, I'm Anoop. I completed my emergency medicine residency in 2011 and have been working clinically since then. Growing up in a philosophically-minded family contributed to my view of medical education, clinical practice, and the wide-scale changes happening in healthcare.

While there are many approaches to solving problems in healthcare, I think one of the most important is a shift toward an understanding of ourselves as whole persons rather than machine-like bodies. Our machine-like view of the human being in medical science limits our approach to diagnosis and treatment, prevents us from understand healing systems around the world, and contributes to a medical culture with alarming rates of physician and nurse distress.

Second Mind Medicine is an effort to advance understanding, science, practice, and healing by spotlighting knowledge gaps we have ignored and providing new, more comprehensive perspectives on anatomy and healing that will disrupt healthcare and help people heal.
